Facebook Messenger Update Adds Support for Instagram Attachments

Following Twitter’s iOS application update earlier on Tuesday, Facebook also launched an update for one of their popular freesocial networking iOS applications Tuesday – Facebook Messenger.

The update gives users easier access to sending pictures an Emoji to friends. In the middle of a messaging session, the user can tap on the paper clip button to bring up a picker that can be used to send Emoji or pictures.

Notably, the selection of pictures now extends to not only albums in your Photos application, but also images that you have on Instagram. The merge is likely a direct result of Facebook buying Instagram just last year.

Existing users of the Facebook Messenger application will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Facebook Messenger for free via this App Store link.
